Inter House Story Telling Competition - 12th April

On 12th April Inter House Story Competition was organized by the Literary Club. There were eight participants, one from each House. Jyoti Sharma, class 8A from Pema House was declared first, the “Best Story Teller” followed by Kinley Zangmo, class 5A from Khorlo House second and Chimi Wangmo, class 7C from Sernya stood third. All the eight participants came up with very inspiring stories and narrated excellently.

World Health Day – 7th April observed

World Health Day was observed on 7th of April with “Poster Competition” with the school theme “Health is in my hands”. Competition was organized in three categories: Category I for classes 2 & 3, Category II for classes 4 to 6 and Category III for classes 7 & 8. Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners. The participants came up with very creative and commendable posters. The international theme for the day was “Ageing and Health”. The coordinator highlighted on the significance of the day and urged the students to take care of their health.

Best Student of the Month

The selection of the “Best Student of the Month” for the month of March was held on 30th March. The nominees were one student from each section from class 4 to 8 nominated by the classmates. There were 15 nominees in total. Each nominee did a brief campaign prior to voting. All the teachers and the House captains casted votes. Karma Lhazin of class 8B emerged as the winner with total of 30 votes out of 50. She acknowledged everyone who voted for her and assured that she would be the role model for the other students and keep up the title of Best Student.

Inter House games tournament practice started on 19th March

The Inter house games practice for the forth coming tournaments started on 19th of March. Almost all the students are involved in at least one discipline like basketball/volleyball/table tennis/badminton/chess. Time table for the eight houses are prepared by the games coordinator to ensure that all the houses get opportunity to practice all the disciplines.

World TB Day - 24th Feb observed

World TB Day was observed on 24th of February by the Literary Club with Power Point presentation on causes, signs and symptoms, treatment and prevention of TB. It was followed by Quiz on TB and prizes were awarded. Dr Wangdi Phuntshok, Dungsho from Regional Referral Hospital, Mongar was invited as a guest speaker to provide information on the indigenous aspects of treatment of tuberculosis. The theme for this year’s World TB Day was “I am stopping TB in my lifetime.” The students were asked to “Be informed and inform” others too.

World Water Day – 22nd Feb observed

World Water Day was observed on 22nd March. Two students talked about the significance of the day and the importance of water. The theme for this year’s World Water Day was “Water and Food Security.” The coordinator, Mrs Sarita Mongar urged the gathering to use water sustainably and save water.

Celebration of 32nd Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The 5th King Jigme Khesar Namgay Wangchuck

School celebrated the 32nd birth anniversary of 5th Druk Gyalpo Jigme Khesar Namgay Wangchuck on 21st of February at Mongar HSS ground with our humble prayers to His Majesty for his good health and long life. Five nearby schools celebrated the joyous occasion together with March Past and cultural Items. Honourable Khempo from Kedhyekhar Shedra graced the occasion.


The school missed two teachers in this session. The following two teachers got transferred :
- Ms Devika Gurung, Teacher to Pelrithang MSS
- Ms Karma Deki, Teacher to Tshenkarla MSS
