From the Principal's desk

Welcome back to the 2016 school year at Mongar Lower Secondary School. Like every year, we the family will definitely move one step forward as we are entering the important year, “The Birth of Our GYALSEY”. As we always follow the quote of Shiv Khera: 'Winners don’t do different things, they do things differently', so I am optimistic that we will bring a new change in ourselves for the happier children of twenty-first century.
Have a great academic year ahead. Best wishes to all.

Disaster Management Awareness

The school carried out the first disaster awareness program for the 2016 academic session on 23rd March for the classes PP to 4, and on 24th March for classes 5 to 8, after the class hours. The two groups were to ensure that the teachers used language to the level of the students’ grades so as to convey the messages effectively. The students were reminded and made more aware of the various natural disasters, preventive measures wherever applicable, and what they need to do before, during, and after each of the disasters. The presentations were made very pictorial for the lower classes and supplemented with captions for the upper classes.
On 25th, when the siren rang out across the school campus during 5th period, all students and teachers demonstrated what they had learnt from the awareness sessions. The students came out to their designated safe place and the search and rescue team went around to take in the number counts and look for the missing students who were rescued and provided first aid care. The mock drill was conducted smoothly, which indicated that the disaster awareness is very much instilled into the minds of the students.

Donation from Ms Tara Devi Giri

The school would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms Tara Devi Giri, teacher of this school who is currently studying for her master’s degree in Melbourne, Australia for her generous and timely donation to the school. Her donation of Nu.24100.00 for the chorten construction in the school arrived just in time when the school was facing a shortage of fund to complete the chorten. This amount helped the school do up the final completion of the chorten just in time to consecrate it for the 60th birth anniversary of our beloved His Majesty the 4th King.

With the start of the new academic session and bringing in more innovative ideas into classrooms and in catering support services to the students with special needs, the school was in dire need of fund. Ms Tara has again come to the rescue of the school by donating an amount of Nu 20000.00. This money will be used in the most appropriate way to benefit the students and the school. May the generosity of Ms Tara bring her much spiritual merits and may this inspire many others to make generous contributions for the benefit of the students, the future leaders and citizens of our country!
